The Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community is one of the most unique places to visit in the Smoky Mountains. This 8-mile loop located off of the East Parkway is home to numerous studios, galleries, and shops where you can purchase handcrafted items produced by local artists and craftspeople.

1. The Wild Plum Tea Room

The Wild Plum Tea Room is Gatlinburg’s most talked about lunch restaurant. Modeled after the tea houses in the mountains of Austria, this cafe makes all of its dishes from the freshest ingredients available. Popular menu items include the baked salmon burger, homemade chicken salad, lobster pie, and the dessert sampler. If you plan on dining at The Wild Plum Tea Room, be sure to call ahead at least a day in advance to make reservations.

2. Delauder’s BBQDelicious BBQ ribs and side dishes.

Delauder’s BBQ was named one of the top 100 places to eat in the United States by the users of Yelp! This awesome BBQ joint is a family run business that styles itself as a no-frills “dive” with delicious food. All of the meats at Delauder’s are smoked to perfection in-house. Standout dishes include the pulled pork sandwich, BBQ ribs, fried okra, and homemade pies.

3. Fox and Parrot Tavern

The Fox and Parrot Tavern is an authentic British pub in the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community that is the perfect place to stop for a pint or a full meal. The Tavern has 31 beers on tap, so you are sure to find a brew that strikes your fancy. Guests can order off a full menu of classic British dishes, including fish and chips, bubble and squeak, shepherd’s pie, and bread pudding.

4. Morning Mist Cafe

Considered a hidden gem in Gatlinburg, Morning Mist Cafe is a fantastic place to eat lunch. This mom and pop restaurant boasts some of the best hamburgers in town along with great jumbo hot dogs, sandwiches, and salads. No meal at Morning Mist Cafe is complete without trying their “Kimmie” Cake for dessert, a homemade pound cake covered in strawberries and whipped cream.

Visiting the Glades Soda Fountain is like stepping back in time! This old fashioned malt shop offers classic desserts from days gone by, including ice cream sodas, phosphates, malts, milkshakes, and sundaes. All of the dishes at the Soda Fountain are prepared by a friendly soda jerk who even uses a crank-operated cash register.
