This beautiful and classic cabin keeps you close to favorite BBQ restaurants and Southern staples, the top-rated Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, dinner shows, Anakeesta, Ober Gatlinburg, favorite fudge shops, the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, and plenty of unique shops for great gifts and souvenirs! 

At the cabin, enjoy 3 huge decks that look out over the stunning Smoky Mountain Views. The blue hills roll on and on, and the lush trees pop against the blue skies. Enjoy plenty of greenery in spring and summer, amazing autumnal hues in fall, and snow-capped peaks in winter. Sip coffee from the rocking chairs looking out at the mountains, enjoy breakfast at the picnic table on the deck, and breathe in some fresh mountain air as the sun comes up.

Inside, spread out and enjoy plenty of space for the group. This 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom cabin features a beautiful living room with a fireplace and flatscreen TV, a nice dining table below an antler chandelier, 5 private king suites, jetted tubs, plenty of parking, 2 fully equipped kitchens, 2 outdoor hot tubs, a pool table, a private theater room, a rec room, a grill, and multiple living areas where guests can enjoy reconnecting, relaxing, and spending quality time together. It will be a golden experience!

Living Room
Luxury abounds in the living room of Golden Oak Lodge 1229, which offers seating for the group, a flatscreen TV, an inviting fireplace, and windows showcasing the views. Enjoy lots of natural light flooding in, cozy up on the sofa and matching loveseat and chair, and set out snacks or board games on the large coffee table. It’s a great place to relax and unwind with a drink and the ones you love. After a big hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or a day at Dollywood, come back to this space to enjoy the peace of the mountains. 

Kitchen
Golden Oak Lodge 1229 has 2 fully equipped kitchens, so it will be easy to keep your group fed and happy. The main kitchen has an oven and stovetop, a microwave, a coffeemaker and toaster, and a double-door refrigerator/freezer with space to store ingredients, snacks, and leftovers. Sit at the breakfast bar for your morning coffee or a glass of wine at night, chatting with family and friends. The kitchen also has plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, and cooking tools. 

Dining Area 

The dining area is located just off the kitchen and features seating for 8 at the table. Sit down for a nice meal together, with additional guests sitting at the breakfast bar or out on the deck. It’s a great place to gather for good food and great company. Enjoy holiday meals, pizza dinners, sandwich lunches, and drinks once the kids head to bed. 

After mealtime, clear the table and play board games and card games brought from home. Easily grab snacks for a game night from the kitchen nearby and have the TV on while you play and hang out. Kids can watch cartoons in the morning as you make breakfast, or you can use this as your work/homeschool space while away. 

Rec Room

Bright and open, the rec room is a fun place to hang out and play. It features beautiful wood details, bright colors, comfortable seating, a pool table, a flatscreen TV, easy deck access, and a second kitchen! Have a drink at the breakfast bar here, keep the full-size refrigerator stocked with cold drinks and snacks, reheat some leftovers in the microwave, or bake some cookies for a fun day in! 

There is plenty of space here for kids to play and move around, and a huge antler chandelier adds an elegant touch. When it’s rainy, too hot, or too cold to head out, this will be your go-to spot for fun in the cabin! 

Theater Room
You don’t need to leave the cabin for movie night on your vacation when you stay at Golden Oak Lodge 1229. It has its own theater room! Get comfortable on the loveseats that sit on stadium-style risers – so everyone gets the best seat in the house. There is space for around 12 guests in front of the large movie screen, and the rec room kitchen is nearby for snacks and drinks! 

Sitting Area

Need a place to chat, get some work done, or just read and relax on your own? Head upstairs to the loft sitting area. It features 2 leather loveseats, 2 large ottomans, and a cozy fireplace. There is also a small desk and chair with lamps, so it’s just the place for peace in the cabin.

Bedrooms
Enjoy the golden silence of the private bedrooms after a long day exploring the Smoky Mountains. The 5 bedrooms are king suites, ensuring each guest feels at home – and pampered. Bedrooms have flatscreen TVs, dressers, nightstands and lamps, king-size beds, and en-suite bathrooms with double vanities, walk-in showers, and jetted tubs. Plus, bedrooms offer deck access, so you can enjoy some fresh air before meeting the rest of the group for the day. 

Two of the bedrooms are located on the entry level of the cabin, and there are 2 more upstairs flanking the sitting area. Downstairs, gamers and night owls will love staying in the bedrooms near the rec room and theater room! 

Outdoor Spaces
Amazing Smoky Mountain views roll on and on at Golden Oak Lodge 1229! And with 3 large decks, you’ll find plenty of space to enjoy them. Watch the landscape transform into stunning hues of gold, orange, and red during fall. Enjoy the lush greenery of spring and summer. And watch for snowcapped mountains in winter. Year-round, you’ll enjoy the beauty of the mountains from your private decks. 

On nice days, toss burgers and steaks on the gas grill for a cookout. There are picnic tables for outdoor meals, rocking chairs for sipping your coffee in the morning, and a bubbling hot tub for soothing those tired muscles after long days. You can even watch for skiers at Ober Gatlinburg! 

Community Amenities
When you want to get out of the cabin for a bit, enjoy the community amenities in Golden Oak Lodge 1229. Chalet Village offers a nice lineup of amenities, including clubhouses, outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, walking trails, games, and more! 

Local Fun
You’ll have all you need at your cabin, but when you want to get out, downtown Gatlinburg is just minutes away. Take a short drive to grab a bite to eat, play miniature golf, drive go karts, play laser tag, get old-time photos taken, shop for locally made gifts, listen to live music, sip moonshine, and more! 

Ober Gatlinburg

Go skiing and snowboarding, try indoor ice skating, wind through an outdoor maze, enjoy German food and treats, go shopping, and have fun at the wildlife encounter at this classic Gatlinburg attraction. 

Cades Cove
Take a scenic drive through Cades Cove, where you’ll get a chance to look for black bears and turkeys, stop by historic homesteads and churches, take photos by fields of wildflowers, or picnic by peaceful streams. 

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Boasting 800+ miles of trails, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has endless opportunities for outdoor fun. Go hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, driving, fishing…the list goes on and on!
