Vacationers in Gatlinburg, Tennessee certainly won’t go hungry! Our Smoky Mountain city is home to hundreds of fantastic restaurants. Some of the most popular eateries in town not only offer great food but a great atmosphere as well. To help you make the most of your vacation, Chalet Village has put together a guide to six incredibly fun places to eat in Gatlinburg TN:
1. Loco Burro
If you’re craving Tex-Mex in Gatlinburg, Loco Burro is for you! This excellent restaurant serves the city’s best tacos, enchiladas, nachos, and fajitas. Loco Burro frequently hosts live music, but some of the best entertainment comes from watching visitors ride the restaurant’s mechanical donkey! Staying on this bucking bronco is a difficult task that many will try, but few will excel at. Guests can also enjoy sitting on the restaurant’s roof, which includes a fire pit and beautiful views of the downtown area.
2. Johnny Rockets
Johnny Rockets offers delicious burgers, fries, and milkshakes in a 1950s themed atmosphere. Each table comes with a mini jukebox that you can operate for just five cents. Even if you don’t use your table’s jukebox, you’re likely to hear lots of great oldies music playing at the restaurant. Sometimes, the waitresses at Johnny Rockets even dance to the classic tunes!
3. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a can’t-miss destination for anyone who loves the movie Forrest Gump. This restaurant is known for its friendly servers, who will ask you trivia questions about the film while you wait for your food. Every table at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. comes equipped with a sign that says “Run Forrest Run” and “Stop Forrest Stop” on the other side. When you need to get your waiter’s attention, all you have to do is flip your sign to “Stop Forrest Stop”, and you’ll receive speedy service.
4. Fannie Farkle’s
Fannie Farkle’s is another one of the most fun places to eat in Gatlinburg TN. While it may not be a traditional sit-down restaurant, Fannie Farkles has some of the very best food in the Smokies. No trip to Gatlinburg is complete without tasting their famous footlong corn dog or one of their mouthwatering sausage or steak subs. Once you’ve had a bite to eat, you can enjoy Fannie Farkle’s awesome arcade, which features the perfect mix of new and retro games.
5. Dick’s Last Resort
Dick’s Last Resort is unlike anywhere else you’ve eaten before. Instead of being friendly and professional, the servers at Dick’s are intentionally rude to the guests! Your waiter or waitress will make jokes, throw napkins at you, and force you to wear an oversized paper hat with personalized insults scrawled on it. As you can see, this restaurant isn’t for everyone, but if you have the right sense of humor, it’s a blast!
6. The Melting Pot
The Melting Pot always promises a memorable meal. Guests will receive a big pot of delicious cheese fondue that they can enjoy by dipping pieces of bread, vegetables, and meats into. Be sure to save room for dessert, because The Melting Pot’s chocolate fondues are absolutely irresistible.
