1. Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway
Experience one of America’s largest aerial tramways during your next trip to the Smokies! The Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway can hold up to 120 passengers, so the whole family can enjoy it together. People of all ages will be amazed at the scenic views. This 2.1 mile ride will take you up the side of the mountain, directly to the Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area. The Aerial Tram also departs regularly from downtown Gatlinburg, which is convenient if you have already paid to park your car somewhere.
Experience the magic of the mountains with your family at Anakeesta! Their new Rail Runner is the first of its kind in the United States. This unique coaster lets you ride lower to the ground and control your own speed as you zip downhill! For another thrill, take a ride on their dueling zipline! Race through the treetops right next to friends and family on one of three ziplines. If you’re feeling brave, you can even try one of the two challenge stations along the way! If you want to shop or grab a bite to eat, Firefly Village is the place to go. This collection of shops and restaurants also features scenic overlooks and a nearly 360 degree view of the mountains!
3. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
Meet some adorable new friends at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies! You can pet one of the playful penguins in Penguin Encounter or reach out and touch the stingrays in Touch a Ray Bay! You can even purchase a one-of-a-kind painting done by one of the aquarium’s own penguins! A staff member can also take you on a behind-the-scenes tour. Learn about what it takes to keep all the animals happy and healthy as you see where the water is monitored, the food is made and more!
