Planning Tools

We have gathered some tools that may assist you in planning your vacation.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT  FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES OR TIRE CHAINS ARE REQUIRED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS.** Snow is  unpredictable. The best chance for snow is December until mid-February. If you are lucky enough to see snow, be prepared for it.  Snow removal is usually prompt on the main Ski Mountain Road, but can take a few days on the side roads, so be ready! PLEASE WATCH THE WEATHER CHANNEL OR VISIT WWW.WEATHER.COM FOR THE LATEST CONDITIONS.  THE ZIP CODE FOR GATLINBURG IS 37738.

**Please be advised that Chalet Village Properties is not responsible for the roads through and around Chalet Village. The city of Sevierville and the County are responsible for Ski Mtn Road, Wiley Oakley Drive, Cliff Branch and any side roads that are connected. These  municipalities will do the best job they can depending upon the level of snow and equipment at their disposal. The driveways or parking lots of each individual cabin or chalet are private property which restricts Chalet Village Properties from scraping due to threat of damage to the property.**

Use the icons on this page to explore maps of the area, look at travel dates,  download a brochure and even check the weather forecast for your trip.

**Helpful Hint** Please do not rely on Mapquest, Google  or Navigation systems directions to guide you directly to our office.  Their accuracy is not 100%. The directions on the Area Maps link are correct.

WHERE IS THE CLOSEST AIRPORT?
Gatlinburg is served by McGhee-Tyson Airport (TYS) in Alcoa, Tennessee. It is about 40 miles from Gatlinburg and we recommend renting a car rather than taking a taxi (you will need the car to get up and down the mountain while here). Most major car rentals are located inside the airport terminal. To get here from the airport:

Turn left on Highway 129 toward Knoxville. Follow 2.5 miles to Hwy 168 (John Sevier Highway). Follow John Sevier Highway 7.2 miles to Highway 441 (Chapman Highway). Turn right onto Chapman Highway and follow 19 miles to Sevierville. Turn right at the second traffic light in Sevierville (signs will point you toward Gatlinburg). Follow 13 miles to Gatlinburg.

IS THERE FISHING CLOSE BY?
None of the small streams on Ski Mountain are large enough to support fish, but there is great trout fishing in downtown Gatlinburg. As a matter of fact, Gatlinburg has a trout rearing program in a local facility and the streams are stocked every Thursday (no fishing on Thursday). Certain state and local regulations apply, so check with our Chamber of Commerce for specifics. You can obtain a trout fishing brochure that explains all the details by calling City Hall at 865-436-1400.

IS FIREWOOD PROVIDED?
Firewood is provided at your chalet October through February.
We do not provide kindling.
Gas fireplaces are turned on October and turned off  Februrary.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING?
All food and condiments (including salt & pepper); plastic wrap, foil, etc.; hair dryer, infant high chair, safety gates, portable crib;  laundry supplies if your unit has a washer/dryer; beach towels for the pool, in season.
